Week 26

On the previous weekend and Friday, I worked really hard on my essay to make sure it was close to complete. I already had a good proportion of writing done by this week and had many sources but still needed to discuss some more of them.

I filmed my flames this week, I realised a delay wasn’t needed for the piezo tone after testing. The tone works! It sounds very annoying but that’s a good thing so that people are aware of the presence of a flame. Since my code and video are alright, I will upload them to my project file.

I’ve spent this week looking at my older assignments and making some changes, thankfully I am mostly finished with everything.

I’ll spend this week finishing my reflection for this year, some parts of my essay, my second Arduino project writeup and if I have time I’ll make some changes to my machine learning project and add the tensor example for Mario kart.

I’m quite tired as I’ve been putting all my attention into this assignment but it’s nearly done. I didn’t realise the year would end this early or this quick. I’ll have to make sure I get my assignment done by Thursday as I won’t have computer access on Friday. I could still use my time next week but I feel happy with my work and feel it’s best just to finish it and hand it in instead of dragging it out longer than it needs to.

I’m curious about next year, I have learnt that I enjoy creative technology more than I initially thought. I enjoyed the making and planning of my flame sensor as a product a lot. Part of me wonders if I should transfer over, however I do not like voltage and current calculations so I’m not sure.

I hope some of the skills I’ve learnt in BSc1b will transfer over into my second year, or that I’ll still have some ways of incorporating them even if I am on creative computing.
