This week was a shorter week as there was no lecture,
At first, we had group tutorials where we discussed how our group projects went. It was really insightful to hear how the other half of my year group did with their project, along with their process of how they came to their final piece. We also got told as a group what we would be looking at next (XR programming unity and C#). I’ve never used unity but I’ve heard about its usage in game design, same goes for C#.
I’ve been looking forward to XR programming, as I’ve been a Pokémon go fan (AR) and have enjoyed using VR during my last make it manifest(o)– so I’m excited about the possibilities on how to use it. I’m not sure about how difficult it will be to learn how to work with, but I’m certainly excited for it and would love to become good at it!
Later in the week, we made and produced a presentation talking about our one week project, each of us had a part in making the slides. I personally didn’t do much talking, but I liked the informal feeling of the whole presentation experience and how it didn’t feel overly serious. It was nice at the end to give compliments and criticisms to the other group’s presentation too, as well as being given feedback ourselves to try and improve in the future.
We also had one final session on P5js, as a whole, I enjoyed the idea of it but in practice I did find it not the easiest, and I felt as though due to that I had to answer way more questions and get a lot of help. In the future, I want to try and get better at helping myself, so that I don’t need to ask for help as often. In order to get to this stage, it’ll definitely take time, but I might need to do further research into the topics that I am looking at in advance.
Alongside looking at P5js again, I did get a sneak peak at other people’s grid projects, it was really nice to see what everyone had come up with as we all had different ideas.
