Week 11

This week I had an individual tutorial, it was good to hear I was on the right track. I didn’t have too much to comment on in this tutorial, but it was nice to get some details on the next project.

I also had some time this week to do some finishing touch ups to my write up before I handed it in, I also cleaned up the comments in my code.

At the end of the week I started the AR project. I’m using unity for it, which is really useful as my VR project from last year used unity too. When setting up the basis of the project, I remembered a lot of the steps and settings from my AR project. Because of this, setting up my project was easier.

I quite liked the VR project, and when testing on the AR project I enjoyed it too. I was interested to hear that any printed square could be a ‘marker’ for my image, I learnt the hard way that trying to detect a rectangle is more complex. I also noticed that my peers had better detection with square images, so next time I’ll also try with a square image.
